Description
This tasty quinoa breakfast recipe is made with sautéed pears, brown sugar, cinnamon, ginger and toasted walnuts
Ingredients
- 1 cup Organic Quinoa
- 1 cup Water
- 1 cup Low Fat Milk
- 1 Tablespoon Butter
- 2 Tablespoons Brown Sugar
- ½ teaspoons Cinnamon
- ½ teaspoons Fresh Ginger, Grated
- 1 whole Organic Pear, Cored & Chopped
- ⅓ cups Chopped Walnuts, Toasted
Preparation
1. Rinse and drain quinoa under cold running water.
2. Place quinoa, water, and milk in a medium saucepan and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to a simmer, cover and cook until all liquid is absorbed, about 10 to 15 minutes.
3. Combine butter, sugar, cinnamon, and ginger in a skillet over medium heat and cook until bubbly. Add the pear and stir to coat with the sugar mixture. Cook about 1 minute. Don’t allow the pear to get soft, you want the pear to stay somewhat firm. Stir in the walnuts and quinoa and serve.
