Description
Taking my mom’s classic chai recipe and changing one ingredient.
Ingredients
- ½ teaspoons Ground Cardamom
- 3 whole Cardamom Pods
- 1-½ cup Water
- 2 whole Darjeeling Tea Bags (Single-serving Size)
- ½ teaspoons Whole Black Peppercorns
- 1 whole Cinnamon Stick
- ½ teaspoons Whole Black Cloves
- 2 Tablespoons Milk
- ¼ teaspoons Sugar
Preparation
In a dry pan, roast the ground cardamom and whole cardamom pods until lightly toasted and the spice is aromatic. Heat the water in a saucepan until it comes to a simmer. Add the tea bags and other spices and heat/steep for 15 minutes. Through a strainer, pour into a cup. Add milk and sugar to taste (adjust to your liking).
