Creamy soup base recipe

Use this basic recipe to make a variety of creams and creamy soups. Simply top with your favorite vegetables, cooked chicken, and/or cheese.

  • 1/2 cup of butter
  • 6 tablespoons of wheat flour
  • 2 cups of milk
  • 2 chicken bouillon cubes
  • Black pepper, to taste


    1. In a saucepan, melt the butter. Make a paste with the flour. Cook over medium heat until the bouillon cubes have thickened. Season with pepper to taste.
    2. When combining the cream's other ingredients, add more milk. (The amount will be determined by how thick you want your soup.)
    3. Steamed broccoli and yellow cheese, as well as baked potato wedges and/or crumbled bacon, can be added.
