Description

Pimento cheese is probably either something you have seen at the grocery store, heard of, or never heard of. Pimento cheese is basically a Southern food. I live in Wisconsin, and to me, it is every bit of Northern food as it is a Southern one. Pimento cheese is something that is way too easy to make, and is also way too delicious. Few ingredients bring an amazing flavor to pretty much anything you put it on.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Sharp Cheddar Cheese, Grated
  • 3 Tablespoons Mayonnaise
  • 4 Tablespoons Diced Pimentos
  • 1 clove Garlic, Grated
  • 1 pinch Cracked Black Pepper

Preparation

To make the cheese, add everything into a mixing bowl, and do just that … mix it very well. Cover with plastic wrap and place in the refrigerator for at least one hour.

That’s it. Very basic.

So, now what? Well, what you do not know is how amazing this pimento cheese is. Unwrap it and get ready to serve. For me, I spread it on a pretzel roll with a hot dog and caramelized onions. Later I found myself spreading it on pretzels and crackers. It was soon to run out, and that’s probably for the best as it has this addicting flavor. A bit of that garlic bite with the tanginess from the mayonnaise, and that wonderful Wisconsin cheese flavor … And well, let’s not forget the pimentos which are those wonderful cherry peppers.

Feel free to use as a sandwich spread, or dip vegetables into it. Whatever you decide, I guarantee you are going to like it.
