  • 1 tsp Mustard
  • 1 tsp urad dal
  • 1/2 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp Chickpea lentil
  • 1 tsp Coriander seeds
  • 1/4 tsp Fenugreek
  • 1 tbsp Mole
  • 3 dry red chili
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 1 tsp Mustard
  • 1 tsp urad dal
  • 1 tsp Chickpea lentil
  • 2 tbsp peanut
  • 2 dry red chili
  • Pinch Asafoetida
  • some curry leaves
  • 2 chili cut
  • 1 1/2 cups tamarind extract
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric
  • 1 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp jaggery
  • 4 cups cooked rice


    1. To begin, combine 2 tbsp oil, 1 tsp mustard, 1 tsp urad dal, 1 tsp chana dal, 2 tbsp groundnut, 2 dried red chillies, and a pinch of hing in a large kadai.
    2. Also, add some curry leaves and 2 chilies and fry for a few minutes.
    3. Now stir in the tamarind extract, turmeric, salt, and jaggery. Stir well, cover, and cook for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
    4. Cook until the tamarind extract separates from the oil.
    5. In a separate pan, dry roast the mustard seeds, urad dal, cumin seeds, chana dal, coriander seeds, fenugreek, sesame seeds, and dry red chilies. Roast the spices until they become fragrant. Allow to cool completely before grinding to a fine powder. mix.
    6. Mix in the Pulihora masala powder with the ripe tamarind extract. Mix until the paste develops an aromatic flavor.
    7. Now stir in the cooked rice and season with salt.
    8. Gently combine the Pulihora paste with the rice and serve with curd or papad.
