Description
Beet juice in its purest form is sweet and earthy that requires an acquired taste but when you mix it with the right ingredients like apple, the earthiness dissipates and becomes a sweet nutritious drink.
It has been used by the ancient Roman empire as an aphrodisiac but more than that this root crop helps lower high blood pressure and builds endurance. It has been called in numerous publications “an athlete’s secret weapon”.
Ingredients
- 1 whole Beet, Washed
- 2 whole Fuji Apples
- 1 whole Zucchini
- 1 whole Lemon (peel On, But Wash Off The Wax)
- ½ pounds, ⅞ ounces, weight Spinach
Preparation
This recipe requires a vertical auger style juicer.
Peel beet (optional), then slice it into quarters and half those quarters. Cut apples into eights and take out the seeds (as they have cyanide in them). Slice the zucchini from the top down to cut it in half. Slice those halves in half again so that it fits into the feed chute. There is no need to peel. Chop off both ends of the lemon then quarter it. Chop spinach stems into half inch chunks so it won’t clog the pulp ejector.
Run all of the prepped ingredients through your juicer according to manufacturer’s instructions. Enjoy.
