Description
Trifle is one of those “show-off” desserts that are really easy to put together but taste amazing and impress almost anyone. I threw this together as dessert for our Christmas dinner. If you can, try to make it at least a few hours before you are ready to serve it to let the cake soak up the fruit juices and alcohol.
Ingredients
- 1 whole Chocolate Cake
- ½ cups Whipped Cream Flavoured Vodka
- 2 cups Heavy Cream
- 2 teaspoons Vanilla Sugar
- 2 cups Vanilla Custard
- 2 cups Blueberries
Preparation
1. Place a layer of chocolate cake chunks (about1/3 of the cake) on the bottom of a tall glass bowl.
2. Sprinkle a few tablespoons of the alcohol over the cake.
3. Whip the cream into soft peaks with vanilla sugar.
4. Spread about of 1/3 of the custard over the cake.
5. Spread about of 1/3 of the whipped cream over the custard.
6. Sprinkle about 1/3 of the blueberries evenly over the cream.
7. Keep layering, finishing with a few sprinkles of berries.
8. Let the trifle sit in the fridge for at least 1 hour for all the layers to settle.
