Melt-in-your-mouth, healthy and delicious! Most whole wheat recipes are rubbery; this one is not. I’ve made these hundreds of times and they never fail.

    Ingredients

    • 1 cup Whole Wheat Flour
    • ½ teaspoons Salt
    • 2 teaspoons Baking Powder
    • 1 Tablespoon Honey
    • 3 Tablespoons Applesauce
    • 1 cup Buttermilk
    • 2 whole Eggs

    Preparation

    1. Preheat griddle to 350ºF, or a skillet on medium/medium-low.
    2. Whisk together whole wheat flour, salt and baking powder. Add honey, applesauce, buttermilk and eggs. Whisk together just until combined.
    3. Ladle a pancake sized amount of batter onto the griddle or skillet and cook the bottom side until golden brown. Then flip it and cook the other side until golden brown.

Substitutions: You can substitute 1 tablespoon of honey for 3 tablespoons sugar. Buttermilk can be substituted with 1 tablespoon lemon juice and 1 cup milk.
