Description

Creamy and packed with flavour, this apple pie oatmeal porridge is perfect for cool fall and winter mornings!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Old Fashioned Oats (See Note)
  • 1-½ cup Milk
  • 1 cup Water
  • ¾ teaspoons Cinnamon
  • 1 pinch Cloves
  • ¼ teaspoons Salt
  • 2 Tablespoons Maple Syrup
  • ½ teaspoons Vanilla
  • 1  Medium-sized Apple, Grated
  • Chopped Walnuts And Raisins, For Garnish

Preparation

Put all ingredients into a pot and simmer over low-medium heat until all liquid is absorbed, leaving a creamy, delicious, awesome, tasty breakfast.

While the oatmeal is simmering, put walnuts in a pan and toast in the oven at 350ºF for about 3 minutes to bring out their flavour. (This step is optional but highly recommended!)

Top oatmeal porridge with toasted walnuts and raisins. (Or let your little one help, to get him/her into the kitchen!)

Notes:
1. For a dairy-free breakfast, replace milk and water with 3/4 cup canned coconut milk and 1 ¾ cup water.
2. For a gluten-free breakfast, ensure oats are certified gluten-free.
