Description
Loco Moco is an iconic Hawaiian dish. A bed of rice is topped with a juicy beef patty, a fried egg, and then drowned in delicious brown gravy!
Ingredients
- ⅔ cups White Rice
- 4 Eggs
- FOR THE PATTIES:
- 1 pound Ground Beef
- ½ cups Panko Bread Crumbs
- ½ cups Onion, Minced
- 1 Egg, Beaten
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire Sauce
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- 1 teaspoon Black Pepper
- Oil, For Frying
- FOR THE GRAVY:
- 2 Tablespoons Butter
- 2 Tablespoons All-purpose Flour
- 1-½ cup Beef Broth
- 2 dashes Worcestershire Sauce
- Salt And Pepper, to taste
Preparation
Cook the rice according to package instructions.
In a large bowl, combine all the ingredients for the patties (except the oil) and make patties, 1 for each serving. Heat the oil in a large skillet and fry the burgers for 4–5 minutes each side until cooked through. Transfer to a plate and keep warm.
In the same skillet, melt butter for the gravy. Add flour and whisk until you get a light-brown paste. Whisk in the broth. Bring to a simmer. Add the Worcestershire sauce and simmer for 5 minutes. Season to taste, if needed.
Fry the eggs sunny side up. Serve the cooked rice topped with the burger, the fried egg, and the gravy.
