Description

This Cuban Steak with Onions dish is jam packed full of delicious flavors! It’s tender, savory, and sure to make any abuela proud.

Ingredients

  • FOR THE MARINADE:
  • 4 cloves Garlic, Minced
  • 2 Tablespoons Olive Oil
  • ¼ cups Vinegar
  • 1 envelope (about 1g Packet) Goya Sazon
  • ½ teaspoons Goya Adobo
  • ½ teaspoons Oregano
  • ¼ teaspoons Cumin
  • ¼ teaspoons Pepper
  • FOR THE BISTEC ENCEBOLLADO:
  • 2 pounds Thin Round Or Top Sirloin Steaks (no Skirt Or Flank)
  • 2 whole Yellow Onions, Thinly Sliced Into Rings
  • 2 Tablespoons Olive Oil
  • ¼ cups Vinegar
  • ¾ cups Water
  • 1 envelope (about 1g Packet) Goya Sazon
  • 1 teaspoon Goya Adobo
  • ½ teaspoons Cumin
  • ½ teaspoons Salt
  • ½ teaspoons Pepper
  • ¼ cups Cilantro

Preparation

Combine marinade ingredients. Tenderize meat and mix in a large bowl with onions and marinade.

Heat oil in pan to medium high. Remove steaks from bowl and sear for about 5 minutes. Add onions and remaining marinade to pan and continue cooking for about 5–10 more minutes until onions become translucent.

Add vinegar, water, Sazon, adobo, cumin, salt, and pepper. Cover, lower heat to medium, and cook for 10–15 minutes.

Add cilantro and serve with steamed rice. Enjoy!
