Description
This my healthy breakfast recipe. Chilla/dosa are Indian pancakes, and these are crispy, quick to make, full of protein, and taste great. These are made with moong dal (green lentil), quinoa and oats.
Ingredients
- 1 cup Moon Dal (Green Lentil), Soaked Overnight Or At Least 4 Hours
- ½ cups Quinoa, Soaked Overnight Or At Least 4 Hours
- ½ cups Plain Instant Oats, Or Your Favorite Variety
- 2 whole Large Green Chilies, Chopped, More Or Less To Taste
- 1 teaspoon Grated Ginger
- 1 teaspoon Red Chili Powder
- 2 teaspoons Salt, Or To Taste
- 3 Tablespoons Water
- Olive Oil, Or Your Preferred Oil, As Needed For Cooking The Pancakes
- 2 teaspoons Sambhar Powder (optional), For Sprinkling On Batter
Preparation
Grind everything except the oil and sambhar powder into a thick smooth paste. Transfer the batter/paste into a large bowl.
Heat a nonstick pan over high flame and add 1 teaspoon oil. Pour 1 heaping ladleful of the batter over the pan and swirl it, using the ladle to form a round shape. Sprinkle some sambhar powder (optional) over the top.
Reduce flame, cook the chilla for 1-2 minutes, then flip. Add 1/4 teaspoon oil and cook the other side for 1-2 minutes. Then increase the heat to high and cook the chilla for 1 minute. Repeat for the remaining batter.
Serve hot or cold, according to your preference.
