Milk Punch with Bourbon

Description

A New Orleans classic: milk punch with lemon, ginger and most importantly, bourbon.

Ingredients

  • 1-½ cup Milk
  • ½ cups Heavy Cream
  • 3 Tablespoons Granulated Sugar
  • 2 slices Fresh Ginger, 1/4″ Thick Each
  • 1 whole Strip Of Lemon Peel (pith Removed)
  • 1 whole Small Cinnamon Stick, Broken In Half
  • ¼ teaspoons Vanilla Extract
  • 2 Tablespoons Bourbon

Preparation

In a small sauce pan, combine all ingredients except vanilla and bourbon. Bring to a gentle simmer over low heat and stir a few times. Cover the pot and remove from the heat. Let sit for 30 minutes.

Stir in the vanilla and bourbon. Taste and see if you want to add more bourbon.

Strain the mixture into serving glasses and chill before serving.
