Description

Cool and refreshing on a hot summer day.

Ingredients

  • 6 cups Water
  • 1 cup Brown Sugar
  • 6  Medium Size Limes, Divided
  • 12  Fresh Mint Leaves
  • 2 cups Ice Cubes

Preparation

Add the water in a pitcher.

Then add the brown sugar, and the juice from 5 limes (reserving 1 lime for garnish). Stir until the brown sugar is dissolved.

Next, add the mint leaves and stir.

Chill for about 2 hours before serving so that the mint will add flavor the limeade.

If you prefer a stronger mint flavor, chill overnight. You’ll just need to remove the mint leaves before serving because they’ll turn a dark color.

Before serving, an option is to rub a wedge of lime around the rim of your serving glass or a Mason jar. Then put some brown sugar in a plate or small bowl, turn the glass or mason jar upside down, and dip it in the sugar until the rim is completely coated with the brown sugar.

Just before serving, add the ice to the pitcher. Then cut the remaining lime into small wedges and add them to the serving glasses or Mason jars for garnish.
