Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon Ground Allspice
  • 1 teaspoon Freshly Grated Nutmeg
  • ½ teaspoons Ground Ginger
  • ½ teaspoons Ground Cloves
  • ¼ cups Brown Sugar
  • 1 whole Juice And Spiral Peel Of 1 Orange
  • 1 whole Juice And Spiral Peel Of 1 Lemon
  • 4 ounces, fluid Hot Water
  • 16 ounces, fluid Brown Ale (we Used Newcastle)
  • 6 ounces, fluid Hard Cider (we Used Strongbow)

Preparation

In a large, non-aluminum pot, combine spices, sugar, citrus juices and zest with hot water. Cook over medium heat, stirring frequently, until hot. Add the ale and cider, cook to steaming (not boiling). Ladle into heat proof mugs, garnish with an orange twist.
