Ingredients
- ¼ cups Low Sodium Soy Sauce
- ½ cups Beef Broth
- 1 Tablespoon Brown Sugar
- 1 Tablespoon Rice Vinegar
- 2 teaspoons Sesame Oil, Divided
- 1-½ Tablespoon Cornstarch
- 2 Tablespoons Canola Oil, Divided
- 1-½ pound Beef Steak Cut In Bite Size Slices (about 1/4 Inch Thick)
- 1 Large Broccoli Crown Cut Into Bite Size Pieces (about 4 Cups)
- 2 cloves Garlic, Minced
- 1 Tablespoon Fresh Ginger
Preparation
In medium bowl, combine soy sauce, beef broth, brown sugar, rice vinegar, 1 teaspoon sesame oil and cornstarch.
Heat 1 tablespoon canola oil and remaining 1 teaspoon sesame oil in large heavy skillet over medium/high heat. Add beef in single layer and cook until browned on both sides, approximately 1–2 minutes each side. Remove beef to a plate. Cover and keep warm.
Heat remaining 1 tablespoon of oil in same skillet over medium high heat. Add broccoli and cook for 30 seconds, stirring twice. Push broccoli to the outside of the skillet. Lower heat to medium low. Add garlic and ginger to the center of the pan and cook 30–60 seconds, stirring constantly.
Whisk sauce mixture that you set aside earlier. Add soy sauce mixture to skillet. Stir broccoli into sauce. Cover for 2 minutes, letting sauce thicken and broccoli steam. Add beef back to the pan, heating for 1–2 minutes. Serve over rice or Chinese noodles.
Note: You need a pretty good cut of beef. I use either petite shoulder, tenderloin, sirloin, tri-tip, ribeye or strip.
