Description

Yup. You heard right. That’s Sangrito. You really gotta twang it when you say it. Half sangria, half mojito. You’ll never drink anything else again. I’m gonna get me a glass now.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Simple Syrup
  • 1 whole Bunch Of Mint
  • 1 whole Granny Smith Apple
  • 1 whole Orange
  • 1 bottle (750ml Bottle) Sweet Red Wine
  • 4 cups, 3 tablespoons, 1-⅞ teaspoons, ¼ pinches Ginger Ale
  • 3 ounces, fluid Silver Rum

Preparation

In a pitcher add simple syrup and mint. (Directions for making simple syrup are in the related blog post.) While you add the mint leaves, gently roll the leaves between your fingers to release the oils. Gently muddle the leaves into they syrup; break up the leaves too much, and your Sangrito will be bitter. Slice the apple and orange and add those. Then add wine, ginger ale, and rum. Stir gently and serve!
