Description

The easiest and freshest root beer you’ll ever taste. Even after it loses its “fizz” it still tastes great and makes great floats.

Ingredients

  • 1 bottle (2 Oz. Size) McCormick Root Beer Concentrate
  • 3-½ gallons Cold Water
  • 8 cups Granulated Sugar
  • 6 pounds Dry Ice

Preparation

Place a very large beverage cooler (minimum 5-gallon capacity) in an open place that can get messy. Pour in extract and cold water, stir in sugar until dissolved. Wearing thick gloves or pot holders, add the dry ice and stir.

Let sit uncovered, stirring occasionally (scrape the bottom with a long spoon to keep the dry ice from building up on the bottom), until the bubbling has mostly stopped.

Serve immediately; store leftovers in clean 1-gallon milk jugs in the fridge. This is even good the next morning when the carbonation is gone but it is still slushy.

Be very careful with the dry ice; store it in the freezer until you are ready to use it. Never let it touch bare skin, always handle with protective gloves or potholders. Never let children handle it.
