Description

I don’t drink coffee, so when my sister-in-love gave me this recipe, I was thrilled! Now I have something to drink on those COLD wintery days! YUMMO.

Ingredients

  • 3 Tablespoons Nestle Unsweetened Cocoa (you Can Add More Cocoa Powder If You Like A More Chocolatey Taste)
  • ½ cups Water (if You Adjust The Cocoa Make Sure You Adjust The Amount Of Water)
  • 1-½ cup Sugar
  • 1 cup Whipping Cream
  • 12 ounces, fluid Evaporated Milk
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla
  • 1 dash Salt
  • 1 gallon Milk (I Have Used Whole, 2%, 1.5%, 1% And Skim – All Good)

Preparation

1. In a HUGE sauce pan, mix the cocoa powder and water until it makes kind of like a thick paste—you know, like syrup, so not too much water. You may not use the entire 1/2 cup of water but it is just a starting point. I’m horrible at measuring! Sorry!

2. Once that is nice and “creamy,” add the sugar, whipping cream, evaporated milk and heat until the sugar has dissolved.

3. Add in the vanilla and dash of salt.

4. Add in the gallon of milk and heat until it is the temperature you desire.

Note: keep the gallon, you’ll want to put the leftovers back in it. This can last 7-10 days in the fridge. And it’s great as cold chocolate milk as well!
