Description

I didn’t realize that mint tea was a southern thing until I moved to the north. I recently had someone comment, “That tea was good, but what were those leaves in it?” Try this tea for a brunch or tea party.

Ingredients

  • 1 gallon Water
  • 4 whole Family Size Black Tea Bags (or 16 Regular Tea Bags)
  • 2-⅔ cups Sugar
  • 6 sprigs Fresh Mint
  • 1 cup Lemon Juice
  • 1-½ cup Orange Juice
  • 8 cups, 7 tablespoons, ¾ teaspoons, ⅓ pinches Ginger Ale

Preparation

Bring the water to a boil. Add tea bags and let steep for 5 minutes. Remove the tea bags. Add sugar and mint. When cool, add lemon and orange juice. When ready to serve, add ginger ale. Serve over crushed ice.

Note: I like to freeze “ice cubes” of this tea to add to the pitcher just before serving, so I don’t dilute the tea.
