Description
This Penne Pasta dish is made with spicy Italian sausage in a rich marinara sauce, but the twist is, you’re only going to cook the pasta in half the water!
Ingredients
- 4 cups Water
- 2 (about 4 Oz. Size) Sausage Links
- 2 teaspoons Salt
- 1 pound Penne Pasta
- 1 jar (about 25 Oz. Size) Marinara Sauce
- ¼ cups Freshly Grated Pecorino Romano Or Parmesan Cheese
Preparation
Add 1 inch of water to a high-sided skillet. I used a 10″ skillet, so this was about 4 cups of water. Bring to a boil.
Remove casings from Italian sausage links. Break up with a wooden spoon and heat in a skillet until fully cooked.
Sprinkle the salt into boiling pasta water. Add penne to boiling salted water. Cook for about 9 minutes, stirring occasionally, until just about all water has evaporated from pan.
Pour in jarred sauce and add in sausage crumbles. Turn heat off to pan. Mix all together. Sprinkle freshly grated Pecorino Romano or Parmesan cheese right over the top of pan or bowl.
