Refreshing and great for settling upset tummies.
Ingredients
- 1 cup Water
- 2 Tablespoons Fresh Ginger Root
- 1 piece Lemon Or Lime Rind (optional)
- 4 Tablespoons Honey, Or To Taste
- 1 quart Sparkling Water Or Club Soda
Preparation
Bring the water to a boil. While the water is heating, thinly slice the ginger root and peel one small piece of lemon or lime rind using a vegetable peeler. When the water starts boiling, remove from heat and add the ginger and lemon/lime. Let steep for 5-10 minutes.
Strain into a glass jar and add the honey to taste. Chill before using.
When ready to serve, add 8 ounces of sparkling water or club soda to 1/4 of the ginger syrup and stir gently. Makes four 10-ounce servings, each serving containing approximately 65 calories and 16g carbohydrates.
