Honey Nut Granola

Description

A healthy naturally sweet granola made with oats, almonds and walnuts. Perfect for topping on ice cream, yogurt, oatmeal or just sneaking a handful!

Ingredients

  • ¼ cups Applesauce (unsweetened)
  • ¼ cups Honey
  • 7 cups Old Fashion Oats Or Mixed Rolled Oats
  • ½ cups Almonds, Slivered Or Whole
  • ½ cups Walnuts, Roughly Chopped
  • 1 Tablespoon Ground Flax
  • 2 Tablespoons Whole Flax Seeds
  • 1 Tablespoon Cinnamon, Ground

Preparation

Preheat oven to 300ºF.

In a bowl add applesauce and honey, whisk together until combined.

In a very large mixing bowl, mix together oats, almonds, walnuts, ground flax, whole flax seed and cinnamon.

Add the honey mixture over the dry mixture and stir until everything is thoroughly combined.

Spread onto a pan lined with parchment paper or a nonstick mat and bake in the oven for 45 minutes. Remove the pan from the oven every 15 minutes and give the granola a good stir to ensure even baking.

Allow to cool for 20-25 minutes on the pan before serving. The granola will harden up as it cools. Store in an airtight container.
