Description
This delicious strawberry sauce is perfect over vanilla ice cream on a hot summer day.
Ingredients
- 1 pint Fresh Strawberries
- ½ cups Water
- ½ cups Organic Sugar
- 1 Tablespoon Vanilla Extract
- 1 teaspoon Ground Cinnamon
- 1 gallon Vanilla Ice Cream, For Serving
Preparation
Hull, then chop up strawberries in a small dice. The smaller you cut them, the faster they cook. Put them in a non-stick pot with the water, sugar, vanilla, and cinnamon. Bring the ingredients to a rolling boil, stirring constantly. After the syrup comes to a boil, bring the temperature to a simmer, and cover. Cook until the syrup is thick and sticky, about 15 minutes. Take it off of the heat, pour into a serving dish and let it cool. To re-heat, sprinkle the top with water and heat it in the microwave (covered with a lid or a sheet of plastic) for 30 seconds, or until the syrup is steaming. Pour desired amount over vanilla ice cream and enjoy!
