Simple Baked Rutabaga Fries

Description

Rutabaga is a delicious root vegetable low in calories, packed with vitamin C and fiber and fairly low in carbs only 6.7 net carbs per 100 grams. This healthy vegetable is also acceptable on a paleo diet. Baked rutabaga fries make an excellent healthy snack or serve as a side with main. These naturally gluten-free rutabaga fries may be served warm or at room temperature.

Ingredients

  • 2 whole Rutabaga
  • 1 Tablespoon Coconut Oil
  • ½ teaspoons Sea Salt
  • ½ teaspoons GF Black Pepper

Preparation

Preheat oven to 425ºF and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Peel and cut rutabagas into fries. Toss with coconut oil and seasonings. Place on prepared baking sheet making sure they are not touching.

Bake for 20–25 minutes or until edges start to brown. Serve as is or top with one or more of your favourite toppings.
