Just in time for Easter, all-natural gummies you can feel good about feeding to your kids. Or (ahem) devouring all by yourself. Made from collagen- and protein-rich gelatin, fresh fruit juice, and local honey, you don’t have to worry about overindulging this holiday.
Ingredients
- ⅓ cups Plus 1 Tablespoon Cold, Cold-pressed Or Fresh-squeezed Fruit Juice
- 2 Tablespoons Local Honey
- 3 envelopes (1/4 Oz. Packet) Grass-fed Gelatin
- ¼ teaspoons Citric Acid (See Note)
- 4 drops All‐natural Confectioner’s Flavorings
- All-natural Food Coloring (optional)
Preparation
Whisk juice, honey, and gelatin until there are no lumps. Heat on low, stirring constantly, until everything is melted, about 3 minutes. Do not boil.
Add citric acid (see note), flavoring, and optional food coloring, Stir to combine. Spray candy molds with natural cooking spray. Slowly pour gelatin mixture into molds. Freeze for 20 minutes.
Unmold gummies. At this point they can be eaten, or for that characteristic gummy bear chew, stand gummies upright for 2 days. If you’re insanely patient, you can lay them flat for another day. The longer they air dry, the chewier they will be.
Because of the organic ingredients, you’ll want to store these in the fridge after they dry out for up to two weeks. Toss with a pinch of cornstarch if they start to get sticky.
