Tasty and seasonal, these cookies are like mini apple pies!
Ingredients
- 1-½ cup Apples, Peeled And Finely Diced
- 1-½ cup Cane Sugar, Divided
- 1 cup Walnuts, Finely Chopped (I Use My Food Processor)
- ¼ cups Water
- 1 cup Butter
- 2 whole Eggs
- 2 cups Flour
- 2 teaspoons Baking Powder
- 1 teaspoon Cinnamon
- ½ teaspoons Ground Cloves
- ½ cups Milk
- 2 cups Quick Cooking Oatmeal
Preparation
Heat oven to 375ºF.
In a saucepan, combine apples, 1/2 cup cane sugar and nuts. Add water. Cook and stir over medium heat until mixture is thick and apples are tender, about 10–15 minutes.
Cream butter and remaining 1 cup of cane sugar. Beat in eggs.
Sift together flour, baking powder, cinnamon and cloves. Add alternately with milk to the creamed mixture. Stir in oatmeal.
On a greased baking sheet, drop dough by the teaspoonful. Make depression in the center. Top with about 1/2 teaspoon apple filling.
Bake at 375ºF for 10–12 minutes.
