Kick your Thanksgiving dinner up a notch with this quick, easy and delicious Apple Pie Sangria.
Ingredients
- FOR THE SIMPLE SYRUP:
- ¼ cups Apple Juice
- ½ teaspoons Ground Cinnamon
- 1 whole Clove
- 2 teaspoons Honey
- FOR THE SANGRIA:
- 1 whole Honey Crisp Apple, Thinly Sliced
- 2 sticks Cinnamon
- ¾ cups Apple Juice
- 1 whole Clove
- 5 cups Dry White Wine (I Used Pinot Grigio)
Preparation
For the simple syrup:
In a small sauce pan or pot, set heat to medium. Add apple juice, cinnamon, clove and honey (whisk in honey). Allow everything to come up to a simmer. Simmer on medium/low for about 1 minute. Allow syrup to cool/ get to room temperature.
For the sangria:
Slice apple and put directly into a pitcher. Add cinnamon stick, cloves, apple juice and wine.
Once simple syrup is cooled, add it into the pitcher of wine and mix. Put in refrigerator and allow sangria to sit for about 4–6 hours. Serve within 24 hours of making it!
