Just a few simple ingredients to make these sweet treats. Perfect for the fall.

Ingredients

  • 16 ounces, weight Sugar Cookie Mix (Packaged Dough)
  • 1 whole Egg
  • ½ cups Butter, Melted
  • 21 ounces, weight Canned Apple Pie Filling
  • FOR THE TOPPING:
  • 2 Tablespoons Brown Sugar
  • ¼ teaspoons Ground Cinnamon
  • Caramel Sauce, To Serve (optional)

Preparation

Preheat oven to 375ºF. Grease an 8- to 9-inch baking dish.

In a mixing bowl, combine sugar cookie mix, egg and melted butter. Mix until dough forms.

Remove 1 cup of dough and set aside. Take remainder of dough and press evenly into bottom of pan.
Spread apple pie filling over sugar cookie dough.

Take the remaining 1 cup of dough and break up into small pieces. Sprinkle on top of apple pie filling.

In a small bowl, combine brown sugar and ground cinnamon. Sprinkle on top of dough.

Bake for 20–25 minutes or until edges are brown and dough is cooked through. If desired, drizzle with caramel sauce before serving.
