Description
How to make a “baked” apple in the microwave, with brown sugar, vanilla, raisins, walnuts and maple syrup.
Ingredients
- 1 Apple, Such As Granny Smith Or Fuji
- ½ Lemon, Juiced
- 1 teaspoon Cinnamon
- ¼ teaspoons Nutmeg (optional)
- 1 teaspoon Light Brown Sugar
- 1 teaspoon Pure Vanilla Extract
- 1 Tablespoon Raisins
- 1 Tablespoon Chopped Walnuts
- ½ teaspoons Maple Syrup
Preparation
First, slice the apple. If you have a melon baller, use this method: With a large knife, slice the apple in half right down the middle, then scoop out the core on each half using a melon baller. Then, using the tip of your knife, cut out the inedible parts on each apple half. Cut each half into wedge slices, and it’s ready to bake.
In a microwave-safe bowl, toss apple slices with lemon juice, spices, brown sugar, vanilla and raisins. Cover bowl with an upside-down plate. Microwave for 3 minutes, then remove it using a towel or oven glove (watch out, the bowl and plate will be hot).
Add walnuts and drizzle maple syrup on top.
