Description
Sweet and savory baked bacon with a maple syrup candied glaze.
Ingredients
- 2 Tablespoons Maple Syrup
- 12 slices Thick Apple Wood Smoked Bacon (I Used Trader Joe’s)
- ½ teaspoons Coarsely Ground Black Pepper
Preparation
Preheat oven to 400 F.
In a bowl, add maple syrup; set aside.
Add bacon in a single layer onto a rimmed baking sheet and bake in the oven for 15-20 minutes until barely crisp. Carefully remove pan from oven. Drain off any fat in the pan.
With a pastry brush, brush maple syrup over one side of bacon and sprinkle with half of the black pepper. Place pan back in the oven for 2 minutes. Take baking sheet out of the oven and flip the bacon. Brush other side with remaining maple syrup and pepper. Place pan back in the oven for 2 minutes or until glazed and shiny.
Remove pan from oven and set on a rack. Let bacon cool for 2 minutes so it firms up. Serve warm.
