Adapted from an old Betty Crocker cookbook … This recipe sets the standard by which all other cookies are measured!
Ingredients
- 1-½ cup White Sugar
- 1-½ cup Brown Sugar
- 1 cup Unsalted Butter Or Margarine, Softened
- 1 cup Shortening, Softened
- 3 whole Eggs
- 1-½ teaspoon Baking Soda
- 1-½ teaspoon Salt
- 2 teaspoons Vanilla
- 4-½ cups Flour
- 1-½ cup Milk Chocolate Chips
Preparation
Preheat oven to 350 F.
In a large bowl cream the sugars, butter, and shortening. Add the eggs and beat well. Mix in the soda, salt, and vanilla; then add flour and mix well. Finally, mix in the chocolate chips.
Drop by teaspoonful onto an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake for 8-10 minutes. Do not overbake.
Makes about 5 dozen cookies.
