Description
Classic buttermilk waffles. My mom has been making these for years and they’ve withstood the test of time!
Ingredients
- 2 whole Eggs
- 2 cups Buttermilk
- 2 cups All-purpose Flour
- 2 teaspoons Baking Powder
- 1 teaspoon Baking Soda
- ½ teaspoons Salt
- ¼ cups Shortening Plus 2 Tablespoons
Preparation
Heat waffle iron.
Beat eggs; then beat in remaining ingredients until smooth. Pour batter from cup or pitcher onto center of hot waffle iron.
Bake until the waffle maker indicates that the waffle is cooked through. Remove waffle carefully.
Serve with butter and syrup.
