Description
A simple and fast recipe for a pizza that will have everyone thinking you ordered in!
Ingredients
- 2 Tablespoons Olive Oil
- 2 Onions, Sliced
- ¼ cups Balsamic Vinegar
- 1 teaspoon Unrefined Sugar
- 1 pound Prepared Pizza Dough
- 8 ounces, weight Shredded Mozzarella Cheese
- 5 ounces, weight Goat Cheese
- 2 ounces, weight Baby Kale, Chopped
Preparation
Preheat oven to 425 F.
In a cast iron (or regular) skillet over medium/high, add olive oil and onions, stirring occasionally until caramelized. For me this takes a good chunk of time. Plan on 15 minutes minimum depending on the type of cook top you have.
Add balsamic vinegar and sugar into a small saucepan. Bring to a boil and then reduce to a simmer for about 10 minutes while stirring occasionally. The sauce will reduce and become thicker.
Roll out pizza dough until it fits a medium to large pizza pan. Put it on a pizza stone or pizza pan. Sprinkle mozzarella over dough, followed by caramelized onions and goat cheese.
Bake in the oven for 15-17 minutes. Remove from oven. Top with baby kale and red pepper flakes. Drizzle with balsamic syrup.
