Sunday is National Grilled Cheese Day. I’m celebrating this national holiday with my sweetie and with a new recipe—Chipotle Gouda Grilled Cheese Sandwich. The official holiday is April 12. And who doesn’t love a grilled cheese sandwich?
Ingredients
- 8 slices Artisan Sourdough Bread
- 1 tub (8 Oz. Size) Spreadable Butter, Only As Needed To Coat Bread
- ½ pounds Boar’s Head Chipotle Gouda, Sliced For Sandwiches
- 1 pound Oscar Mayer Bacon, Fried Crispy
- 2 whole Tomatoes, Sliced
- 4 leaves Romaine Lettuce
Preparation
Allow a panini grill pan or electric skillet to heat up to medium heat. Gather your ingredients so they’re ready to go in an assembly line fashion.
Spread butter on one side of each piece of sourdough bread. Building one sandwich at a time, place one slice of bread, butter side down in the pan and top with some chipotle Gouda cheese, bacon, tomato slices and lettuce. Top with the remaining piece of bread, butter side up. Grill each side of the sandwich until golden brown on each side. Remove sandwich from grill and repeat to make the rest of the sandwiches. Serve hot.
