Description
This soft, moist Chocolate Chunk Oat Bar recipe makes a perfect after-school snack. They are so full of healthful antioxidants and nutritious oats that you can feel good about serving these sweet treats.
Ingredients
- 1 cup Flour
- ½ teaspoons Baking Soda
- ½ teaspoons Salt
- ½ cups Butter (or Coconut Oil Or Applesauce)
- 1 cup Packed Brown Sugar
- 1 Egg
- 1 Tablespoon Water
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla
- 1-½ cup Uncooked Quick Oats
- 1 cup Semi-sweet Chocolate Chunks, Divided
Preparation
Preheat oven to 375°F. Grease an 8×8 baking pan.
In a small bowl, combine flour, baking powder and salt.
In a larger bowl, cream together butter and sugar. Add egg, water and vanilla and blend to combine. Stir in flour mixture and oats. Stir in 1/2 cup chocolate chunks.
Spread batter into prepared baking pan and sprinkle remaining chocolate chunks on top. Bake 30 minutes. Cool completely before cutting.
