Description
Sweet cinnamon and anise flavors complement the coffee. Iced, sweet, what else could you ask for on a summer’s day!
Ingredients
- 1-½ cup Water
- ¼ cups Ground Coffee
- 3 teaspoons Sugar
- 1 stick Cinnamon
- 1 Star Anise
- ½ cups Whipped Cream For Topping
- 1 teaspoon Brown Sugar, Coarse Is Best, For Garnish
Preparation
1. In a medium saucepan combine water, coffee grounds, sugar, cinnamon stick, and star anise.
2. Stir and bring to a boil on medium-high. Reduce heat to medium-low. Simmer uncovered for 3 minutes. Remove from heat.
3. Transfer to a small heatproof bowl. Cover. Chill for 2 hours.
4. Strain through fine sieve into another small bowl. Discard solids. Chill for another hour or so.
5. Put ice into 2 smallish glasses. (Or 1 large one if you don’t want to share.) Pour in coffee. Top with whipped cream and brown sugar.
