Description

Super easy and oh so healthy, these cinnamon apple crisps are a fantastic snack with no added sugar. They taste so great, you still feel like you are indulging in a real treat.

Ingredients

  • 1 whole Medium Apple
  • ½ teaspoons Cinnamon

Preparation

Preheat oven to 100ºC (200ºF).

Using a mandoline, slice apple thinly. I found they worked best at 3mm (see note below).

Place apple slices on a baking tray lined with baking powder. Sprinkle with half the cinnamon. Flip and sprinkle with remaining cinnamon.

Place in the lower part of the oven. Turn after 1 hour and return to the oven. Bake for another 2 hours and then test. To test, remove one crisp from the oven and set aside for 4–5 minutes before checking the crispiness. If it’s still soft, bake for another 30–60 minutes.

Note: I didn’t bother coring the apples—with a bit of extra work to remove the seeds after slicing, you get a lovely star shape in the middle slices. Plus you’re not wasting any apple!
