Coconut Chai

Description

Freshly ground chai spices simmered in coconut milk and steeped with black tea. Heaven!

Ingredients

  • 14 ounces, fluid Canned Light Coconut Milk
  • ½ cups Filtered Water
  • 3 Tablespoons Honey, Or More To Taste
  • ½ teaspoons Ground Cinnamon
  • ⅛ teaspoons Ground Cardamom
  • ¼ teaspoons Ground Ginger
  • Pinch Of Black Pepper
  • 1 Tablespoon (heaping) Black Tea Leaves

Preparation

In a small saucepan, combine all ingredients except the tea leaves over medium heat. Whisk vigorously to dissolve all spices. The honey might not dissolve until the coconut milk is sufficiently warm.

Once simmering, add the tea leaves, cover and remove from the heat. Let stand for 10 minutes.

Strain the mixture, then divide between mugs and serve.
