Creamy Mushroom Pasta with Bacon

Description

Linguini is tossed with a creamy mushroom sauce with crisp bacon. An easy and fast weeknight pasta dish.

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces, weight Linguini
  • 6 ounces, weight Bacon, Chopped
  • 8 ounces, weight White Mushrooms, Chopped
  • 1 Tablespoon Butter
  • 2 Tablespoons Flour
  • ½ teaspoons Salt, Or To Taste
  • ⅛ teaspoons Pepper Or To Taste
  • ¾ cups Milk
  • ¼ cups Half-and-half

Preparation

Cook pasta according to package directions.

Meanwhile, in a large skillet, cook bacon over medium low heat until browned and crisp. Remove bacon and reserve 1 tablespoon drippings in skillet.

Add mushrooms and cook until tender. Remove and keep warm.

Melt butter with drippings. Add flour, salt, and pepper. Whisk and cook 1 minute. Gradually add milk, whisking after each addition to ensure no lumps remain. Cook and stir 1–2 minutes until thickened. Add half-and-half, mushrooms and bacon. Stir to heat through. Adjust seasonings as needed.

Toss pasta with sauce and serve immediately.
