Crockpot Chicken Sausage Gumbo

Description

This is perfect for those who love a good, hearty gumbo but can’t eat seafood due to an allergy or just don’t really care for it.

Ingredients

  • ¾ pounds Smoked Sausage, Sliced
  • 1 piece Large Boneless, Skinless Chicken Breast, Cooked And Chopped
  • 1  Medium Yellow Onion, Chopped
  • 1  Medium Green Bell Pepper, Chopped
  • 2 cloves Garlic, Finely Minced
  • 28 ounces, weight Canned Diced Tomatoes, Drained Slightly
  • 1 Tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce
  • ¼ teaspoons Salt
  • ¼ teaspoons Freshly Ground Black Pepper
  • 10 ounces, weight Frozen Cut Okra
  • ¼ teaspoons Hot Sauce, You Can Add More If You Want
  • Cooked White Or Brown Rice For Serving

Preparation

Slightly brown the sausage and add to slow cooker. Add all the other items to slow cooker except okra and hot sauce. Stir to combine. Cover and cook on low 8 hours, stirring often.

Stir in okra and hot sauce. Cook 20 minutes longer. Serve over cooked rice.
