Description
A tasty well-balanced blended Margarita.
Caution: this requires a good blender, and watch out for the 4th one—it sneaks up on you.
Ingredients
- 6 ounces, fluid Limeade Concentrate
- 6 ounces, fluid Decent Tequila
- 2 ounces, fluid Triple Sec Or Grand Marnier
- 34 pieces Ice
Preparation
Empty the limeade into a 48-ounce (standard) blender jar; don’t toss the can just yet. Fill the can with tequila and add it to the blender jar. Fill the can 1/3 full (2 oz.) of triple sec or Grand Marnier and add that to the blender jar. Pulse the blender to mix.
Note: you can use a 12-ounce can of limeade, just double the tequila (1 can) and triple sec (1/3 can). After mixing, pour off half the mix and save for the next batch. Don’t worry about being exact, you’ll see in a moment that it won’t matter a bit.
Start the blender on low and add ice to about 1/2 full. Let the blender work. As the grinding noise dies down, add more ice. SLOWLY. Kick the blender to high. You want the ice very finely crushed. At 3/4 full, start adding the ice one piece at a time and pausing between pieces to let the ice incorporate into the mix. When the ‘whirlpool’ in the center of the blender jar just disappears, stop adding ice. Let the blender run for another 1-2 minutes to finish crushing the ice. You want a very fine mix.
Rim a martini or margarita glass with kosher salt. Serve. Makes 2-6 drinks.
