Ingredients
- 4 Tablespoons Butter
- 2 Tablespoons All-purpose Flour
- ½ teaspoons Garlic Powder
- ½ teaspoons Paprika
- ½ teaspoons Cumin
- 1 cup Beer
- 8 ounces, weight Smoked Gouda Cheese, Freshly Grated
Preparation
Heat the butter in a skillet over medium high heat and let it melt. Add in the flour, garlic powder, paprika, and cumin and whisk it into the flour until it thickens into a golden roux for about 2–3 minutes. Keep whisking while you slowly pour in the beer and let the beer cook off and thicken for another couple of minutes. Then whisk in the cheese until it is completely melted in, shiny and smooth. Take the pan off the heat and serve immediately with crusty bread, soft pretzels, even apple slices!
