Description
Crunchy, sweet almond granola sprinkled with chopped figs and drizzled with honey. Getting your daily serving of whole grains never looked so gorgeous. This versatile granola recipe allows substitutions for whatever you have in your pantry.
Ingredients
- 2-½ cups Old Fashioned Oats
- ⅔ cups All-purpose Flour
- ½ cups Dark Brown Sugar
- ⅓ cups Chopped Almonds
- 2 teaspoons Allspice
- ½ cups Honey
- ½ cups Coconut Oil
- 1 teaspoon Almond Extract
- ½ cups Chopped, Dried Figs
Preparation
Preheat oven to 250ºF. Line baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, combine oats, flour, brown sugar, almonds, and allspice. Stir well.
In a separate bowl, combine honey and coconut oil. Microwave until melted. Stir and then add almond extract. Pour melted honey mixture over oat mixture. Stir.
Spread granola mixture onto baking dish. Bake for about 60 minutes. Stir briefly, allowing for clumps (that’s the good part). Add chopped figs, then allow it to cool.
Break up any overly large clusters. Store in airtight container. I recommend mason jars.
