Description
Creamy and sweet, with tart fresh cranberries, this oatmeal is full of warm winter spices.
Ingredients
- 1 cup Water
- ½ cups Milk Of Choice
- ½ teaspoons Salt
- ¼ cups Fresh Or Frozen Cranberries
- ½ cups Rolled (old Fashioned) Oats
- ½ teaspoons Cinnamon
- ¼ teaspoons Ground Ginger
- 1 pinch Ground Nutmeg
- 1 pinch Ground Cloves
- 1 pinch Ground Cardamom
- ½ teaspoons Vanilla Extract
- 1 Tablespoon Brown Sugar
- 1 Tablespoon Half-and-half For Serving
Preparation
Add water, milk, salt, and cranberries to a small pot over medium-high heat. Bring to a boil, then simmer until cranberries burst, about 2 minutes.
Reduce heat to medium or medium-low. Add the oats and spices and cook until the oatmeal absorbs the liquid, 5-7 minutes.
Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract, then sweeten to taste.
Transfer to a serving bowl and drizzle with half-and-half.
