Description
This is a refreshing take on cider. Cold, slightly spiced and rich with a little brown sugar and pear. It’s slightly fizzy and pairs wonderfully with fall-inspired food.
Ingredients
- 2-¼ cups Pear Nectar
- 2 Tablespoons Brown Sugar
- 2 whole Cardamom Pods
- 2 whole Cloves
- 6 whole Peppercorns
- Ice
- 4 cups Apple Juice
- 2 cups Sparkling Water
- Pear Or Apple Slices For Garnish
Preparation
In a small sauce pan over medium heat, add the pear nectar, sugar, cardamon, cloves and peppercorns. Bring to a simmer and turn down heat to low. Let sit over heat for about 1 hour, then remove from heat for another hour. Strain the liquid to remove the spices then chill for at least 2 hours.
When you are ready to serve, add ice to each glass. For each drink add 1 cup of apple juice, 1/2 cup of spiced pear syrup and top with 1/2 cup of sparkling water. Garnish with slices of fruit if you want to be frilly.
