A delicious and decadent way to start any breakfast or brunch. French Toast the grown-up way!
Ingredients
- ¼ cups Butter
- 3 whole Apples, Peeled, Cored And Cut Into 1/2 Inch Slices
- 2 Tablespoons Brown Sugar
- 3 Tablespoons Water
- 4 strips Bacon
- 2 whole Eggs
- ¼ cups Milk
- 1 teaspoon Cinnamon
- 4 slices Bread
- ⅓ cups Pecans, Chopped
Preparation
In a medium-sized skillet set over medium high heat, add butter until melted. Add apples and stir well. Reduce heat to medium low, add brown sugar, water and cover. Cook apples for another 10 minutes, checking and stirring occasionally. Remove skillet from heat and pour apples along with the browned butter in a dish and set aside.
Cook the bacon. Remove from pan and cut or crumble. Set aside.
Whisk together eggs, milk and cinnamon. Dip the bread in the egg mixture and coat on each side. Place in the reserved skillet and cook on each side until golden brown, about 2–3 minutes each side. Remove from pan and set aside.
Serve French toast topped with warm apples, pecans and crispy bacon. Drizzle over remaining browned butter. Serve immediately.
