Gingersnaps.
Ingredients
- 1 cup Brown Sugar
- ¼ cups White Sugar, Plus 1/2 Cup For Rolling
- ¼ cups Molasses
- 1 whole Egg
- ¾ cups Vegetable Shortening
- 1 teaspoon Baking Soda
- 1 teaspoon Ginger
- 1 teaspoon Cinnamon
- ½ teaspoons Ground Cloves
- 2-¼ cups All-purpose Flour
Preparation
Preheat oven to 375°F.
In a stand mixer or mixing bowl, combine brown sugar, 1/4 cup white sugar, molasses, egg, and shortening. Mix. Then add baking soda, ginger, cinnamon and ground cloves. Mix together. Once all those ingredients are mixed thoroughly, add flour.
In a small bowl (a cereal bowl will work), add remaining 1/2 cup sugar. Ball dough into 1 1/2 to 2-inch balls and roll in sugar. Place on cookie sheet.
Bake for 8–10 minutes. Cool on wire rack or place on wax paper.
