Description

You are going to have to trust me on this one. I have owned my own coffee house as well as managed and worked in many others over the past 14 years. If you can afford a pump espresso maker, by all means buy it. But if, like me, you can’t, simply purchase a stove top espresso maker and make your own lattes, mochas, americanos, of the iced, hot, or blended variety. With my suggestions it will save you bundles!

Ingredients

  • 10 ounces, fluid Water
  • 5 Tablespoons Espresso Roast Coffee Beans Ground For ESPRESSO
  • 1 whole Stove Top Espresso Maker

Preparation

Okay, just get yourself one of these babies (stove top espresso maker), and you are on your way to making coffee house quality drinks at your home for less than 1/3 of what you are going to pay at a shop.

To brew the espresso, put 10 ounces of water into the bottom of the pot, add 5 tablespoons of the ground espresso beans to the basket and press it down to pack it (not quite as tight as you pack brown sugar, but pack it in there). Then screw the espresso maker together with the lid and set it on the stove to brew. I brew mine at the lowest setting possible so as not to scorch the coffee. It takes 12 minutes at the low setting on my gas stove. If it brews slowly, you will see crema, like in the picture that I have attached. When it is done, you will have 8 ounces of brewed espresso. Now you are ready to make lattes and mochas and frappes, oh my!
