Description
A classic dish gets a cheesy, patty makeover!
Ingredients
- 4 Tablespoons Unsalted Butter
- 1 whole Yellow Onion, Sliced Thinly
- 1 pound Ground Beef
- ½ cups Cream Of Mushroom Soup (or More If You Want Garnish)
- 1 dash Soy Sauce
- 1 dash Whole Milk
- 1 whole Egg
- 8 slices Thick Sourdough Bread
- 4 slices Provolone
- 1 can (15 Oz. Size) Green Beans, Drained
- French Fried Onions, Garnish
- Salt And Pepper, to taste
Preparation
Preheat oven to 400 F.
In a skillet preheated to medium heat, melt half of the butter. Add the onions and cook until softened and golden, about 7 minutes. Remove onions from skillet and set aside.
Meanwhile, in a large bowl, combine ground beef, the listed amount of cream of mushroom soup, soy sauce, milk, egg, and a dash of salt and pepper. Form the mixture into four medium sized hamburger patties.
In the same skillet used for the onions, add the remaining butter and allow it to melt over medium-high heat. Place patties in the skillet and cook for about 5 minutes on the first side. Flip and cook the remaining side for about 3 minutes longer. Once cooked, remove patties from skillet and set on a plate.
Next, take half of the slices of bread and place them on a baking sheet. If desired, slather on a little bit of cream of mushroom soup. Place a patty on top with a slice of provolone, some onions and some green beans. Put pan into the oven. Toast for a minute or two or until the cheese melts. Remove pan from oven. Top with some fried onions and place the remaining slice of bread on top. Enjoy!
